Demographics shift in Roman Rioni, due to fiscal, social, and tourism-related pressures, have lead to a dissociation of cultural and neighborhood identities, and a longing for the traditions of the past. 

This proposed community center, seated on the banks of the Tiber at the Porta Portese, will: serve the needs of all generations of Trastevere and surrounding neighborhoods, allowing for a multifunctional and multigenerational community space, revitalize the Porta Portese area allowing it to find a new identity through beauty and creativity, provide the educational opportunities to members of the community to expand their skills and creativity, and foster engagement through the presence of community groups and spaces in which                                                                to hold community events.
